STSR PRESENTS THE DRAKE HVAC ATHLETES OF THE WEEK: HORSEHEADS' CARDINALE AND EDISON'S LASKO (2024-09-09)

Southern Tier Sports Report
There were a lot of great performances this week, leading to some tough choices for the first athlete of the week honors of the season. In the end, it was Horseheads’ Dom Cardinale and Edison’s Hannah Lasko who were named the Southern Tier Sports Report, sponsored by Drake HVAC Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning Athletes of the Week.

DOM CARDINALE
Horseheads, Football
Was 10-for-16 passing for 209 yards and four touchdowns in a 55-0 win over Watertown to start the season. Also ran for 31 yards on three carries. Threw all four of his touchdowns in the first half. Had two touchdowns of 40-plus yards.

HANNAH LASKO
Edison, girls’ soccer
Scored the first two goals in program history on Saturday at the Union Springs/Port Byron Tournament. Twice tied the game in a game that Edison lost 3-2 in double overtime.
