CORNING — The Corning Hawks rallied for a 3-1 win over Maine-Endwell to kick off their volleyball season on Thursday night.

The Spartans won the first set 27-25, before Corning won 25-17, 25-23, 25-21.

Gracee Work had seven points, 16 kills, a block, an assist and 12 digs for the Hawks and Maddie Wood had 11 points, an ace, two kills, 41 assists and 11 digs.

Melinda Schwesinger had six points, five aces, 11 kills, an assist and eight digs and Sam Molingou had four points, an ace, eight kills, five blocks and a dig.

Teresa Hacker had five points, two aces and seven kills, with three blocks.

Marcello Rosetti had 11 kills and 15 digs for Maine-Endwell and Reese Fuller had 10 digs, while Meghan Zaverton had 11 assists.

Corning won the JV match 25-21, 25-18, 25-16.

Paisley Emmick had 14 assists, seven digs, 23 points and four aces for Corning and Char Starns had 12 kills and five blocks.

Bella Gonzalez had 11 digs, three points in the win.
