Southern Tier Sports Report
High School football gets started for Horseheads, while another soccer team begins their season, and area tennis gets underway today.

Overall there are eight events on today’s schedule, including three local events.

FOOTBALL
HORSEHEADS VS. WATERTOWN
AT CORTLAND UNIVERSITY, 6:30 P.M.
The Blue Raiders head to Cortland to take on Section III’s Watertown in a Week Zero game.

GOLF
HORSEHEADS AT CORNING, 4 P.M.
The Blue Raiders and Corning each are coming off match against Vestal this week and they meet at Corning Country Club.

GIRLS’ SOCCER
U-E AT HORSEHEADS, 7:30 P.M.
The Blue Raiders kick off the season at home.

MAINE-ENDWELL AT ELMIRA, 7:30 P.M.
The Express are coming off a 2-1 double overtime loss to Chenango Forks as they play for the second straight day.

EDISON AT UNION-SPRINGS, 7:30 P.M.
The Spartans go on the road for the second game in program history.

TENNIS
CORNING AT JOHNSON CITY, 4 P.M.
The Hawks hit the road to open the year.

HORSEHEADS AT U-E, 5 P.M.
The Blue Raiders are on the road to begin the year.

ELMIRA AT MAINE-ENDWELL, 4:30 P.M.
The Express start the season on the road.
