HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL: HORSEHEADS OPENS SEASON WITH WIN OVER VESTAL (2024-09-05)

HORSEHEADS — The Blue Raiders were edged in five games in their season opener against Vestal on Thursday night.

Horseheads won 25-21, before Vestal tied things with a 25-18 win. Horseheads won 25-22 to lead 2-1, before Vestal won 25-22 and 15-6.

Adrianna Calbi had 11 kills, seven digs and two blocks in the game, while Alexa Fairchild-Johnson had nine kills and four digs and Emelia Clark had four kills.

Lexi Malay had 15 digs, with two aces and Gracie Sherman had 15 digs, also with two aces.

Kyle Rybak had two blocks and Kaelyn McCarthy had 19 assists and Meleah Kohberger had 12 assists.
