ATHENS — The Elmira boys’ basketball team was edged in the finals of the Waverly basketball summer league on Wednesday.

Elmira topped Towanda 55-44 in the quarters and Candor 36-14 in the semis in games played at Athens High School this year due to renovations at Waverly.

In the final Elmira was edged by Corning 52-47.
