LOCALS OF ALL AGES TAKE THE COURT AT GUS MACKER TOURNEY (24 PHOTOS) (2024-07-21)

CORNING — Basketball players of all ages took the court on Saturday at the Gus Macker three-on-three tournament in Corning.

The field included athletes from the 6-10 age group, up until the adult division.

There were players from all five area schools — Corning, Notre Dame, Horseheads Elmira and Edison, in the field. There were future varsity standouts for the schools, current varsity players, and past standouts, including former all-STSR all-stars like Jackson Casey and Alyssa Dobson of Corning.

The field also featured some area coaches playing the game, and a number of former CCC standouts, including Johnson City grad Xavier Hill, who scored 20 a game for the Red Barons, along with 10 rebounds a contest. This past year he averaged over 13 points and eight boards and was first-team all SUNYAC for Oneonta.
