CORNING GRAD BUTLER MAKES IT TO SEMIS IN 1500 AT OLYMPIC TRIALS (2024-06-28)
Southern Tier Sports ReportCorning graduate Lindsey Butler was sixth in the prelims to make it to the semifinals of the 1500 meters at the U..S. Olympic Trials.
Butler ran a 4:07.15 in the prelims, less than a second off the top time by Elle St. Pierre of New Balance Boston.
The time for Butler was a personal best, and a Virginia Tech school record.
Another former Section 4 standout, Emily Mackay was second in the prelims in 4:06.47. Mackay also runs for New Balance Boston. Mackay is a Union-Endicott graduate who ran at Binghamton.
