HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS: NOTRE DAME GIRLS RANKED FIRST IN THE STATE (November 10, 2021)

As they head into the state final four this weekend the Notre Dame girls’ soccer team sits as the top ranked team in the state in Class C.

The Crusaders, at 14-0-2 on the year are ranked No. 1 in the state. There opponent in the semifinals, Ausable Valley, is ranked fourth at 14-4-1. Byron-Bergen (19-3) and Carle Place (8-4-1) are ranked second and third and are in the other semifinal.

While other area teams are done for the season they are in the state rankings as well.

Elmira is ranked 24th and Corning is 30th in Class AA for girls’ soccer.

For the boys Corning is ranked 12th in the latest rankings, finishing their year at 8-6-3.

As football heads to the Section 4 final Corning is ranked 15th in the state at 7-1 in Class AA. Elmira remains honorable mention.

Horseheads is honorable mention in Class A.

In cross country the Corning boys have been top ranked in the state all season long. The Corning girls are ranked fourth as they head into the state championships.
