COLLEGE WOMEN'S LACROSSE: CORNING GRAD GILL HELPS NIAGARA WIN FIRST EVER MAAC CHAMPIONSHIP (2024-05-05)

Southern Tier Sports Report
Corning graduate Maddy Gill helped the Niagara University women’s lacrosse team make history as they won their first ever MAAC Championship on Sunday.

Niagara picked up an 11-10 victory over No. 22 Fairfield to win for the first time in program history.

Gill had three shots, two on goal, in the game for Niagara. She caused one turnover defensively.

This year Gill, a sophomore, had 21 goals and six assists for Niagara.

Fairfield had won the past five MAAC Championships. It’s the fourth win all-time for Niagara over Fairfield, and third in the past four meetings.

Niagara will play its first ever NCAA Tournament game on Friday.
