COLLEGE WOMEN'S LACROSSE: RILEY AND LOGAN OLMSTEAD HELP LOYOLA WIN PATRIOT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP (2024-05-05)

Corning graduates Logan and Riley Olmstead helped the Loyola women’s lacrosse team capture the Patriot League Championship.

Loyola won the championship game 12-11 in overtime over Navy. Loyola is ranked seventh nationally at 17-2 on the year.

Both sisters started on defense in the game with Riley getting one ground ball in the game and Logan Olmstead caused three turnovers on defense.

Loyola had won the semifinal game 18-0 over Lehigh. Riley had two ground balls in that game and Logan had one.

It’s the eighth Patriot League championship for Loyola, who now qualifies for the NCAA Tournament. Loyola has won 8 of 10 contested Patriot League Championships since the first year in 2014 and this is a sixth-straight trip to the NCAA Championships for Loyola, and the program’s 25th overall selection to the tournament.

Both Logan and Riley have started every game this year for Loyola. Both sisters have 17 ground balls this year.
