HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL: EDISON GOES 1-1 AGAINST STATE RANKED TEAMS AT MORABITO TOURNEY (2024-05-04)

BINGHAMTON — The Edison softball team went 1-1 on the day at the Morabito Tournament at Greenlight Park.

Edison fell to Fredonia 5-2, before beating Tuckahoe 9-3.

Edison is ranked eighth in the state in Class B and Fredonia is third. Tuckahoe is ranked 10th in the state in Class C.

Against Fairport the Spartans got five innings on the mound from Gabby Milazzo, who struck out five and allowed six hits and four runs, two earned. Kailey Ripley went two innings, striking out one and allowing two hits and an unearned run.

Emily Aiello had two hits, with a triple, and a run scored and Carissa Cowan, Charlee Stroman, Ripley and Emma Maggs had hits. Maggs had an RBI and Aurora Parlo scored a run in the game.

Against Tuckahoe the Spartans got four innings from Milazzo on the mound, striking out six and allowing two hits and three runs, one earned. Ripley worked three innings, striking out three and allowing no runs on two hits.

Mariana Jones-Frosolone had three hits and Brianna Korsky, Maycie Bennett, Aiello and Rosie Wheeler had two hits each.

Jones-Frosolone had a double, two RBI and a run scored and Aiello had a triple, two. RBI and a run scored. Bennett had a double, a triple, an RBI and three runs scored and Wheeler had two RBI and scored a run.

Ripley had a double and scored a run and Maggs and Parlo had hits, with Parlo and Cowan scoring runs.
