PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL: LIMONCELLI GETS FIRST WIN OF SEASON FOR CLASS A MODESTO (May 4, 2024)

Horseheads graduate Mikey Limoncelli picked up his first win of the year for Modesto, the Class A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.

Limoncelli earned the win in a 9-6 victory over the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes as he threw two hitless, scoreless innings for Modesto.

Over the two innings Limoncelli walked two, and he struck out the side in his second inning of work.

Limoncelli has worked 5 2/3 innings this year with seven strikeouts. He’s 1-1 on the season in five games with a 4.76 ERA.

The Horseheads graduate missed most of the past two seasons due to injuries.

This was the second career professional victory for Limoncelli.
