HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL: ELMIRA RALLIES, BUT COMES UP SHORT AGAINST BATH (2024-05-02)
Southern Tier Sports ReportBATH — Elmira rallied late, but an early deficit was too much to overcome in a 7-4 loss to Bath on Thursday.
Bath led 3-0 after the first inning and aded a run in the third and two in the fourth. Bath had a run in the sixth to go up 7-0, before Elmira got four runs in the seventh, with the tying run on deck as the game ended.
Lily Cornacchio had three hits, an RBI and a run scored for Elmira and Ava Sherman, Addison Taft and Hailey Greene all had two hits in the game and Addisyn Chorney had a hit.
Sherman, Taft and Greene scored runs and Chorney had two RBI, while Sherman had an RBI.
Aleida Agosto struck out four in 3 2/3 innings and Madison Smith worked 2 1/3 innings, allowing one run on one hit, striking out two.
