HIGH SCHOOL BOYS' LACROSSE: HORSEHEADS PICKS UP VICTORY OVER ITHACA (24 PHOTOS) (2024-04-26) Southern Tier Sports Report HORSEHEADS — The Horseheads boys’ lacrosse team jumped out to a 5-1 lead after one quarter on their way to a 10-4 win over Ithaca on Friday.
“I’m incredibly proud of the way the boys came out in the first quarter tonight,” Horseheads coach Jason Neubauer said. “They were excited to be back at home (five-game road trip), and it showed.
“This group is coming together as a team and are looking to get better every day. Good luck to Ithaca the rest of the way.”
Griffin Stevens had four goals in the game and Cody Dale finished with three goals.
Zach Lese had a goal and two assists and Brady Woodworth had two goals, while Brogan Sullivan had a goal.
Stevens was 7-for-12 on face-offs and Boe Briggs was 3-for-6 on face-offs.
Andrew Potter had eight saves in goal, a game after notching his 300th career save.
Owen Simons had a goal and an assist for Ithaca and Charles Preheim, Heewitt Gas and Thomas LaFlace had goals, while Lee Milton had an assist.
Ryan Hughes had two saves in goal and Thomas Howley had eight saves.
