MYRTLE BEACH, SC — The Elmira Express were edged by John Jay 4-3 in a game in Myrtle Beach on Wednesday.

The game was tied at three in the bottom of the seventh when Johan De Jesus singled home the winning run for John Jay.

John Jay scored on a fielder’s choice off the bat of De Jesus to start the game, before Elmira took the lead in the fifth when Logan Demember walked and Michael Palmer hit into a fielder’s choice, each bringing in runs.

Ashtyn Traugott-Knoll stole home for Elmira’s third run of the game.

John Jay got a run in the sixth and then scored two in the seventh to win it.

Traugott-Knoll, Brady Morrell and Jack Cavalier all had doubles in the game. Cavalier had an RBI in the game.

Palmer, Quinn Hanrahan and Jack Stemerman had hits for Elmira.

Demember and Bobby Cavalier had RBI in the game and Stemerman, Hanrahan and Traugott-Knoll scored runs.

Tragott-Knoll went the distance on the mound, striking out six.
