CORNING — Corning fell behind 6-0 and 7-1 but rallied with five runs in the seventh, falling just a run short against U-E on Tuesday.

U-E scored two in the first, a run in the second, two in the third, a run in the fourth and a run in the sixth. Corning had a run in the fifth, before scoring five in the seventh.

The game ended with the final out being recorded at third base.

Ryan Price had a triple, two RBI and a run scored and Connor Monroe had a double and a run scored.

Gavin Walker, Barrett, Eli King and Jake Powers all had hits for Corning in the game. Walker, Caden Barrett and Powers scored runs and Barrett had two RBI.

Nolan Smith threw two innings, striking out two. Larsen Burch worked four innings, striking out five and Logan Moore threw a scoreless inning with a strikeout.

Cam Nunn and Ferranti had three hits each for UE, with Michael Ferranti hitting a double. Ferranti scored two runs and Nunn had an RBI and a run scored.

Mario Moretin had two hits, with a double and an RBI, Tai LaBarre had two hits, with a double, an RBI and a run scored and Aiden Huften had two hits, with a double.
