HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS: HORSEHEADS SWEEPS DOUBLEHEADER OVER BINGHAMTON (2024-04-23)
Southern Tier Sports ReportThe Horseheads tennis team swept a doubleheader against Binghamton on the road on Monday.
Horseheads won 6-1, winning first, third and fourth singles and all three doubles.
In first singles Hayden Chatlani beat Charles Edwards 8-6, in third singles Dominic Wood won 8-4 over Simon Pangilinan and at fourth singles Joseph Juwan won 8-0 over Jack Bouton.
In first doubles Ojas Bhushan and Abdullah Javed won 8-3 over Andrew Sumpter and Sean Lee.
At second doubles Nolan Bostwick and Lincoln Choe won 10-8 over Jaezelle Darrah and Alex Koterba.
In third doubles Carder Pawlak and Jacob Nah won 8-2 over Charlie Ostrander and Wren Bigelow.
Ryan Burns fell 8-4 to Jaden Lankford at second singles.
In the other match the Blue Raiders won 7-0.
Zachary Kathan won 8-3 at first singles over Edwards and and Burns won 8-6 over Lankford.
Wood won 8-4 over Pangilinan and Juan won 8-2 over Alex Koterba at fourth singles.
Javed and Jacob Staats won 8-0 over Bouton and Sumpter at first doubles and Camden Larrabee and Mark Mendez won 8-1 in second doubles over Lee and Darrah.
In third doubles Lincoln Shoe and Nolan Bostwick won 8-0 over Bigelow and Ostrander.
