HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL: HORSEHEADS PICKS UP NON-LEAGUE WIN OVER TOWANDA (24 PHOTOS) (2024-04-16)
Southern Tier Sports ReportHORSEHEADS — The Horseheads bounced back from a loss to Corning on Monday by picking up a non-league win over Towanda on Tuesday, 8-1.
It was scoreless into the fourth, but Horseheads scored four in the bottom of the fourth and four more in the sixth in the win.
Caitlin Yearick had two hits, with a double and two runs scored for Horseheads and Chloe Perritt had a double, two RBI and two runs scored.
Megan Wolf, Maddie Ribble, Reagan Burge, Olivia French and Sophia Bonnell all had hits for Horseheads in the game.
Wolf and Ribble each had an RBI and a run scored and Burge and Emelia Clark scored runs, while Aubrey Howe, Kailey McCormick, Bonnell and French had RBI.
Perritt threw six innings, striking out two and allowing six hits and an unearned run. Wolf worked a perfect inning with one strikeout.
Shay Greenland worked four innings for Towanda with six strikeouts and Aleah Johnson had one strikeout in two innings.
Tae-Lynn Brabant had two hits for Towanda and scored their run with Brooklyn Evans getting a hit and an RBI.
Payton Perry, Johnson and Brynsen Vargason also had hits for Towanda.
