WATKINS GLEN — Three runs in the seventh inning proved to be the difference as Edison fell to Watkins Glen 5-4 on a rainy Wednesday afternoon.

Watkins Glen led 2-0 after the top of the fifth, before Edison scored three in the fifth.

Watkins Glen went up 5-3 in the top of the seventh. In the bottom of the seventh Kailey Ripley singled and Carissa Cowan walked. Maycie Bennett grounded into a fielder’s choice, moving the runners to second and third. Charlee Stroman singled and moved to second on the throw, putting the tying run on third, and go-ahead run on second.

Watkins Glen got two outs to get out of the jam and end the game.

Ripley had three hits, with a double, an RBI and a run scored and Stroman had two hits, with an RBI.

Emma Maggs had a triple and scored a run and Emily Aiello had a double.

Madison Pack, Cowan and Bella Moffe all had hits in the game. Moffe and Bennett had RBI.

Ripley worked five innings, allowing five hits and two unearned runs, striking out 10. Aurora Parlo worked two innings, striking out four and allowing two hits.
