ELMIRA HEIGHTS — The Edison softball team scored 14 runs between the third and fourth innings to top Lansing 14-1 in the season opener on Tuesday.

The Spartans won the game in five innings after scoring six in the third and eight in the fourth.

Gabby Milazzo threw a one-hitter, striking out 10 and allowing an unearned run.

Carissa Cowan had a home run, with three RBI in the game and Bella Moffe had two hits, with a double, an RBI and two runs scored.

Maycie Bennett had two hits, with a double, an RBI and a run scored and Madison Pack had a hit, three RBI and a run scored, while Kailey Ripley, Charlee Stroman, Emily Aiello, Brianna Korsky and Milazzo had hits. Milazzo had two RBI, Ripley had an RBI and two runs scored and Stroman had an RBI and a run scored. Emma Maggs scored a run in the game. Korsky scored two runs and Aiello scored a run in the game.
