HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL: DAUGHERTY DOMINANT AS ND OPENS WITH WIN (2024-04-01) Southern Tier Sports Report WHITNEY POINT — Alex Daugherty was absolutely dominant in his Notre Dame debut as the Crusaders beat Whitney Point 12-1.
Daugherty struck out 13 in five innings on the mound and he hit a solo home run in the win.
On the mound Daugherty allowed one hit and one run, walking just one. Luke Richards pitched a hitless inning, with two strikeouts to close out the win.
At the plate Daugherty had the home run and scored three runs in the game.
Jhamez Boyd was 3-for-4 at the plate and Logan Meisner and Malacy Cain were each 2-for-3, while Jahmeire Keyser had a triple.
Boyd had an RBI and two runs scored and Meisner and Cain each had an RBI and a run scored in the game.
Keyser had an RBI and a run scored as well.
Brendan O’Brien had a hit and scored a run and Sebastian Capriotti had two RBI, while Richards scored two runs and Anthony Barkley scored a run.
