HIGH SCHOOL TRACK AND FIELD: CORNING'S FARRELL WINS NATIONALS, SETS MEET RECORD IN RACE WALK; SCOUTEN TAKES 7TH (2024-03-08)

A week after winning the state championship in the race walk, Corning’s Taylor Farrell is now a national champion.

Farrell won the title at New Balance Nationals, becoming an All-American, and setting a new nationals meet record with a time of 7:05.14.

Farrell broke the old meet record, set last year by Madison Morgan in 7:17.28, by more than two seconds.

Corning teammate Sofia Scouten just missed All-American status herself, finishing seventh in 8:09.82.
