SAYRE’S BENNETT NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM REGIONAL GIRLS “ATHLETES OF THE WEEK”
Bennett
continued her dominance this season with a 3-0 mark, and the 124-pound
title at the first-ever District 4 Girls Wrestling Championships
Saturday.
Bennett pinned Midd-West’s Neveah Fegley in 1:52 in the
quarterfinals, then decked Montgomery’s Brielle Walk in 2:45 in the
semifinals.
Bennett, now 18-0, went a full six minutes in the
finals for the first time this season, forging a 12-0 major decision
over Athens sophomore Hanna Rathbun.

(bowling), Wellsboro’s Olivia Chilson (wrestling), and Troy’s Giana

CANTON’S WARD NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM REGIONAL BOYS “ATHLETES OF THE WEEK”
Ward scored two falls, and a technical fall on the way to his second District 4, North Section Tournament title Saturday.
Ward
scored a 19-3 technical fall in 2:15 over Williamson’s Aidric
Passerallo in the quarterfinals, then pinned North Penn-Liberty’s Gabe
Bellows in 60 seconds in the semifinals.
Ward finished off his run with a pin of Athens freshman Connor Davidson in 2:52 in the finals.
