HIGH SCHOOL BOYS' BOWLING: ELMIRA WINS SECTION 4, CLASS A CHAMPIONSHIP (2024-02-16)
Southern Tier Sports ReportVESTAL — The Elmira boys’ bowling team won the Section IV, Class A Championship at Midway Lanes on Friday, by shooting a 3,434 for three games.
Elmira shot 1,227, 1,085 and 1,122 to get the win. Corning was second at 3,247 with games of 1,150, ,1109 and 988 for a 3,247.
Horseheads was third. They shot 1,130, 1,053 and 1,005 for a 3,188, while Binghamton shot 2,884 with games of 890, 1,005 and 989.
Elmira was led by Alex Gublo with a 764 series and Logan Card shot 722, while Trent Belloma gave the Express three bowlers over 700 with a 702.
Cameron Kennedy led Corning with a 242-258-223-723 and Peyton Nelson and Zach Sturdevant each shot 647. Sturdevant shot 219-213-215-647 and Nelson shot 214-206-227-647.
Dante White shot 236-218-165-619 and Camryn Stefanini shot 239-214-158-611.
