HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS' BASKETBALL: HORSEHEADS ROLLS TO VICTORY AT WAVERLY (2024-02-09)

WAVERLY — The Horseheads girls’ basketball team went on the road and picked up a 55-33 win at Waverly on Friday.

Megan Wolf had 17 points and Sophia Bonnell finished with 16 points.

Bonnell had three threes and was 4-for-4 from the line in the game. She had seven points in the third quarter.

Wolf had five threes in the game, hitting three in the third quarter.

Kaylyn Cook celebrated her 17th birthday by hitting two threes for six points and Jordyn Gross had six points in the game.

Jessica Als had four points and Emma Kamas hit a three in the game.

Maddie Ribble finished with two points for Horseheads and Alexis Knox finished with one point.

Horseheads held Waverly to 12 first-half points and 18 points in the first three quarters, leading 27-12 at the half and 45-18 after three quarters.

Paige Robinson led Waverly with nine points and Maci Wheeler had six points.

Horseheads wraps up the regular season Monday when they play Ithaca at Elmira High School at 7:20 p.m.
