HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING: SEVEN LOCALS EARN TOP SEEDS FOR SECTIONALS (2024-02-09)

The Seeds are set for the Section IV Wrestling Championships, which will be held at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena on Saturday.

The wrestling kicks off at 8:30 a.m. and runs until the 6 p.m. finals. In Division I the top two at each weight qualify for states.

Josh Knapp of Horseheads is the top seed at 101 in Division I and Damian Barner of Elmira is the fifth seed.

At 108 Tanner Knapp of Horseheads is the second seed and Elmira’s Jayden Conklin is the second seed, while Caden Barrett of Corning is the sixth seed.

Elmira’s Ryder DePadua Reese is the top seed at 116 and Horseheads’ Joel Scibek is the third seed and Corning’s Connor Crum-Brown is the seventh seed.

J.T. Guyette of Elmira is the top seed at 124 and Horseheads’ Zack Bennett is the fifth seed and Keegan Vancise of Corning is the sixth seed.

Cody Dale of Horseheads is the top seed at 131 and Joey Mastrantonio of Elmira is the second seed, while Blake Teeter of Corning is the seventh seed.

Elmira’s Max Collins is the second seed at 138 and Corning’s Matt Mahon is the third seed, while Jack Clate of Horseheads is the ninth seed.

Corning’s Logan Bruce is the top seed at 145 and Liam Ogden of Elmira is the fifth seed, while Seth Loucks of Horseheads is the sixth seed.

Lucas Mosher of Horseheads is the top seed at 152 and Elmira’s Arius Bradbury is the sixth seed.

At 160 Zachary Schrage of Horsehewads is the top seed, followed by teammate Coleton Owen, Corning’s Tyler Farrand and Clayton Smith and Elmira’s Matt Brown.

Jaxson Burchard of Horseheads is the second seed at 170 and Elmira’s Sam Brenen-Buseck is the thir seed.

Hunter Lavigne of Horseheads is the top seed at 190 followed by teammate Jacob Bennett. Elmira’s Kristian Knox is the third seed.

Elmira’s Zahkye Jenkins is the second seed at 215 and Horseheads’ Martin Huang is the sixth seed.

Seamus Carroll of Horseheads is the third seed at 285 and Jordan Lucas of Elmira is the fifth seed.

For the girls tournament Sonya Dordoni of Horseheads is the top seed and Alexis Collins of Elmira is the third seed.

At 100 pounds Harley Ackerman of Horseheads is the second seed.

Courtney Castellana of Corning is the third seed at 107. Lily Gullo of Horseheads is the fourth seed. Corning’s Kyleigh Rodbourn is the sixth seed and Alexis Miles of Horseheads is the seventh seed.

Keagan Rhodes of Corning is the second seed at 114.

Lily Veseck of Horseheads is the third seed at 126.

Elmira’s Mackenna Burnett is the fourth seed at 132 and Horseheads’ Aliyah Teeth is the eighth seed.

Horseheads’ Morgan Evans is the second seed at 138 and teammate Anna Sheahan is the fifth seed, while teammate Morgan Adams is the eighth seed.

Horseheads’ Lily Garrabrant is the seventh seed at 145 and at 152 Corning’s Jade Cook is the third seed, while Horseheads Kalyani Wiehe is the fifth seed and teammate Lydia Rockwell is the seventh seed.

Horseheads’ Tori Cortright is the fifth seed at 185 and teammate Kirsten Davis is the sixth seed.

Mackenzie Davis of Elmira is the third seed and Horseheads’ Ellisa Bly is the fourth seed.

In Division II Greg Golden of Edison is the fifth seed at 170.

Caden Southard is the seventh seed at 190.
