ENDWELL — Big first and third quarters were the difference as the Horseheads boys’ basketball team fell to Maine-Endwell 70-60 on Tuesday.

Maine-Endwell led 26-13 after one quarter. Horseheads got within 34-27 at the half, but a 25-point third quarter put the Spartans up 59-44 after three quarters.

Maddox Hughey finished with 18 points for Horseheads, 15 in the first half, and Jack Fesetch had 14 points, with four threes.

John Derr hit three threes for nine points and Andrew Potter finished with eight points.

Mason Holloway finished with six points and Miles Woodhouse had three points for the Blue Raiders and Dom Russ finished with two points.

Preston Ocker led Maine-Endwell with 29 points and Luke Ioannisci finished with 24 points.
