Southern Tier Sports Report CORNING — The Horseheads girls’ basketball team turned in a strong defensive effort to pick up their 10th straight win, 40-31 over Corning on Friday night.
“Great defensive effort tonight,” Horseheads coach Andy Scott said. “Two grind out wins on the road.”
Megan Wolf led a balanced offense with 13 points and Emma Kamas had 12, while Sophia Bonnell finished with nine points. Wolf and Bonnell each had three threes in the game.
Jordyn Gross had four points and Alexis Knox finished with two points.
Charlise Starns led Corning with 15 points and Jayda McFall had seven points.
Hannah Nichols finished with five points and Madison Wood had four points.
