HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS' BASKETBALL: HORSEHEADS GIRLS CELEBRATE SENIOR NIGHT WITH WIN OVER SIDNEY (2024-01-26)

HORSEHEADS — The Horseheads girls’ basketball team celebrated senior night with a 66-38 win over Sidney on Friday.

Senior Sophia Bonnell led the Blue Raiders with 22 points, including five threes, against a Sidney team ranked 15th in Class B.

Megan Wolf had 18 points and Emma Kamas had eight points.

The seniors were Bonnell, Alexis Knox and Jenna Baker, along with Maddie Matkosky and Brooke Sumner, who are out with injuries.

“Five of the most team oriented kids you will ever meet,” Horseheads coach Andy Scott said. “Unselfish and committed. Team first mentality.”

Jordyn Gross had four points for Horseheads and Leah Scott, Baker, Jessica Als and Sadie Gustin all had three points, while Maddie Ribble finished with two points.
