HIGH SCHOOL BOYS'BASKETBALL: ND BOYS PICK UP WIN OVER EDISON (24 PHOTOS) (2023-12-08)
Southern Tier Sports ReportSOUTHPORT — The Notre Dame boys’ basketball team picked up a 65-36 win over Edison on Friday night.
Gabe Patterson led the Crusaders with 14 points, including a pair of threes, and Jeremiah Parker had 11 points.
Finn Schweizer and Vinny Campanelli had eight points each for the Crusaders and Luke Richards and Jackson Potter each had five points.
Liam Schweizer had four points and DJ Dyson and Amos Abiiodon had three points each, while Caleb White and Pat McCarthy both had two points.
Talon LaPlante and Garrison Balash each had six points to lead Edison, while Landon Allen had five points.
Blake Cobb, Dustin Morgan and Zach Piper had four points each and Jaden Bennett and Brendan Smith each had two points, while Drew Slaven had one point.
Notre
Dame was pleased to recognize the contributions of the late Ira
Heyward, Sr. prior to the start of tonight's varsity basketball game.
His widow, Julia, was presented with a plaque honoring Ira. She was
joined by Ira Heyward, Jr. '78, Christa Heyward '98, Chelsea Heyward and
her son Milo, grandchildren Greyson Heyward, Nakyiah Heyward, and
Morgan Heyward, and son Lee Heyward '90, and his wife, Liz. Ira's
dedication to Notre Dame as an alumni parent and grandparent was acknowledged
with a sign hung outside of the concession stand where he was a
frequent customer.
