HIGH SCHOOL BOYS' SOCCER: ROSNO HEADLINES TERRIFIC 10 SOCCER ALL-STAR TEAM, FULL ALL-STSR TEAMS ALSO NAMED (2023-11-30)

Corning’s Carter Rosno had a season for the ages and he highlights this year’s all-Southern Tier Sports Report Terrific 10 all-star team.

Rosno shattered the school career and single-season records for goals. Rosno scored 40 goals his senior year, the previous school record for a career was 42, and he added eight assists.

Rosno is this year’s Player of the Year and offensive player of the year.

Horseheads Ben Church was a force defensively for the Blue Raiders. He was also an offensive threat, with five goals. He was strong on the tackle and winning the balls in the air, and he earned all-state honors this year. Church is the defensive player of the year.

Taylor Freelove had 11 goals and eight assists and he’s the newcomer of the year.

Elmira’s Sam Brenen-Buseck was a force in goal for the Express this year. He anchored the Elmira defense and he is the goalie of the year.

Corning’s boys won the division title and sectional titles and their coach, Chad Freelove, is the coach of the year.

This year we have an all Elite 8 all-star list of the best eight players in the area, and then we also have an all-star first and second team and rookie team.

TERRIFIC 10 ALL STARS
Rosno: This year’s all-STSR Player and offensive player of the year. Had 40 goals and eight assists and led Corning to a sectional title. Broke school regular season and career scoring records.

Church: Third on his team with five goals. An all-state and all-STAC Conference pick. An anchor on defense. This year’s all-STSR Defensive Player of the Year.

Kevin Green, ND:A force for the Notre Dame boys’ soccer team. Did a little of everything for the Crusaders throughout the season.

Brenen-Buseck: The goalie of the year for the all-STSR team. An all-conference pick. Started the year with three straight shutouts and was dominant all season.

Luca Capilli, Elmira: Had five goals and 10 assists this year. Was a STAC all-conference selection.

Rohan Amin, Corning: Finished with a goal and eight assists as a defensive center mid. Helped control the defense.

Caleb Anderson, Corning: Had seven shutouts as the goalie for the Hawks. An all-STAC West pick. Helped lead the Hawks to a sectional title.
