HIGH SCHOOL SWIMMING & DIVING: ELMIRA WINS THREE EVENTS AS THEY OPEN SEASON WITH JC (2023-11-28)

ELMIRA — The Elmira boys’ swimming and diving team opened the season on Tuesday, falling to Johnson City 93-83.

The Express won three events on the day.

Elmira’s Wyatt Moss was second in the 200 free in 2:34.50 and Jan Mayoros was second in the 200 IM in 2:28.06.

Cooper Taft won the 50 free in 25.42 with Jameson Rollins third in 28.57.

Creed Hackett won the diving at 259.90 with Aiden Ranck third at 186.35.

Michael Taylor was second in the 100 fly in 1:16.92 followed by Ethan Coleman in 1:29.53.

Taft was second in the 100 free in 57.60. Charles Murphy was second in the 500 free in 7:29.72.

Mayoros, Taylor, Hackett and Taft won the 200 free relay in 1:44.28.

Mayoros was second in the 100 backstroke in 1:08.00 and in the 100 breaststroke Taylor took second in 1:18.30.
