HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: ELMIRA SET TO HOST BINGHAMTON IN SECTIONAL SEMIS (2023-11-04)

The regular season is in the past and now it’s time to kick off the postseason as the Elmira Express play host to the Binghamton Patriots in a Class AA semifinal today.

The winner of this morning’s 10 a.m. matchup is at Corning next week in the final.

Elmira won the regular season matchup 59-8, but they know the Patriots have weapons.

“Binghamton always has the ability to make big plays,” Elmira coach Jimmy McCauley said.

After a regular season that saw the Express battle a number of injuries they are looking to get healthy and try and pick up a win to move onto the sectional final.

For Elmira they need to do the little things well in the playoffs.

“We need to be a great tackling team and execute on offense,” McCauley said.
