Wylausing junior Ayden Hunsinger led the Rams to a big NTL football win, while Owego junior diver Kaelyn Katchuk continued to break records. They are The Sports Reports / Ziff Law Firm Regional “Athletes of the Week.”

WYALUSING’S HUNSINGER NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRST REGIONAL BOYS “ATHLETE OF THE WEEK”

Hunsinger pounded out 187 rushing yards and scored three TDs in Wylausing 37-16 win over North Penn-Mansfield.

Hunsinger scored on runs of 1, 1, and 5 yards, and added a two-point conversion run.

He also had six tackles on the defensive side of the ball.

Honorable Mentions: Sayre’s Kaden Bennett (football), Corning’s D.J. Cornfield (cross country), Corning’s A.J. Thomas (football), Newark Valley’s Dan Truesdail (football), and Wellsboro’s Mitchell Butler (soccer).

OWEGO’S KATCHUK NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRST REGIONAL GIRLS “ATHLETE OF THE WEEK”
Katchuk established three more records during a 93-73 girls swimming and diving loss to Schuyler.

The junior broke the Section IV record in the 1-meter springboard competition with a 6-dive score of 346.45 points. That surpassed the previous record of 341.65 set Sept. 12 by Corning's Brooke Terwilliger.

Katchuk also shattered the Owego Free Academy school record and the Watkins Glen pool record.
