Southern Tier Sports ReportThere are sectional finals in soccer this week, along with the start of the volleyball postseason, and the final regular season games for football.
Overall there are nine events this week, however, with the playoffs schedules can change as wins during the week by some teams could lead to more games later in the week.
Here's a look day by day at what's happening this week, including how many events each day.
MONDAY (0)* No varsity events scheduled
TUESDAY (2)* The Notre Dame boys’ soccer team takes on Edmeston in the Class D sectional semifinals at Oneonta. Notre Dame is the second seed and Edmeston is the third seed.
* The Corning swimming and diving team hosts Ithaca.
WEDNESDAY (2)* The Corning volleyball team hosts Owego in the STAC semifinals.
* The Notre Dame and Edison cross country teams had to the IAC Championships at Marathon.
THURSDAY (2)* The Corning boys and girls soccer teams both host Elmira in the Section 4, Class AAA finals.
FRIDAY (2)* The Corning football team hosts Horseheads and Elmira is at Union-Endicott.
SATURDAY (1)* The Edison football team hosts Moravia.
