ENDICOTT — The Corning boys and girls cross country teams each took the team titles at the STAC Championships, while Sarah Lawson and DJ Cornfield won the individual crowns.

The Corning boys faced a tough test against a state-ranked Ithaca team, but the two-time defending state champion Hawks weren’t about to give up their crown on this day.

Corning finished with 32 points, Ithaca was at 38. Oneonta was third at 90 points.

Cornfield won the boys title in 16:49.50, more than 20 seconds ahead of runner-up Noah Hilker of Ithaca.

Sebastian Boutwell was third for Corning in 17:20.80 and Jaxyn Mahoney was eighth in 17:57.20 followed by Gregory Homa (18:05.20). Nicholas Ferratella was 11th in 18:21.40.

Aidan Kahabka was 21st in 18:46.50 and Samuel Segal was 29th in 19:09. Bryce Hammond was 36th in 19:19.80.

Horseheads’ Kiran Gulati was 25th in 18:55.10 and teammate Max Williams was 35th in 19:18.70. Nathan Zhou was 46th in 19:50.40 and Nicholas Kowal was 51st in 19:55.30. Gavin Hornsby was 58th in 20:10.70 and Joel Scibek was 60th in 20:15.20, while Drake Ernst was 63rd in 20:22.70 followed by Luke Dordoni in 20:24.20. Hunter Lewis was 68th in 20:38.80. Joseph Juan was 73rd in 21:15.10.

Jha’Micque Bell was 75th (21:29) and Ayden Coleman was 77th for Elmira in 21:33.60, while Jagger Woodcock was 95th in 26:54 and Wally Ferriter was 97th in 28:09.60.

Horseheads finished eighth as a team at 206.

For the girls Corning dominated, winning with 28 points. Ithaca was second at 85, followed by U-E at 94, Owego at 101 and Horseheads at 130. Elmira was eighth at 221.

Corning had three of the top six finishers and seven of the top 12.

Sarah Lawson dominated her way to the titles inning in 19:27.70. She won the race by 50 seconds over runner-up Jaelyn Chrysler of Owego.

Ella Grinnell was third in 21:08.90 and Sadie Beres was sixth in 21:37.40, while Lauren Roche was eighth in 21:38.30.

Olivia Murch was 10th in 22:01.40 followed by teammates Meghan McLaughlin (22:02) and Faith Tubbs (22:17.70). Taylor Farrell was 15th in 22:41.70.

Mackenzie Baker was fifth for Horseheads in 21:26.70.

Alexus Borek was 21st for the Blue Raiders in 23:03.30 and Cecilia Cowen was 27th in 23:38.50. MarliMae Oakden was 46th in 26:16.30 and Sophia Christmas was 58th in 26:59.20. Tabitha Oakes was 69th in 23:931.30.

Madelyn Wise was 24th for Elmira in 23:28 and Emma Barends was 36th in 24:25.80. Mariah Faucett was 75th in 31:39.20, while Trish Woodcock was 81st in 36:29.10 and Cheyenne Faucett was 84th in 43:11.20.

In the modified boys race Corning was third at 53 points followed by Horseheads at 148. Ithaca won at 51, followed by Vestal (also at 53). Elmira was sixth at 187 points.

Corning’s Christopher Lawson won the title in 10:52.6 and Elmira’s James Lovell was fifth in 11:22.6.

John Sydlansky of Horseheads was seventh in 11:43.2 followed by Corning’s Elijah Sonner at 11:47.8.

Corning’s Connor Harrington was 11th at 11:52.4 and teammate Caleb Keefe was 13th at 12:06.8.

Corning’s Issac Ballard was 20th in 12:17.1 followed by teammate Ryan Madden at 12:17.3. Corning’s Andrew Miller was 28th

Henry Mletzko of Elmira was 36th in 13:04.9 and Horseheads’ James Tousley was 38th in 13:09.2.

Corning’s Keith Huff was 40th at 13:23.4 followed by Horseheads’ Logan Hornsby at 41st in 13:24.9.

Corning’s Max Adams was 50th in 14:02.2 and Horseheads’ RJ Bigelow was 66th in 14:40.1. Corning’s Brock Allington was 69th in 14:49 and teammate Dwayne Gardiner was 72nd in 15:02.9.

Horseheads’ Dexter Bell was 78th in 15:22.8 and Corning’s Lucas Jennings was 83rd in 15:34.3.

Elmira’s Joseph Cersoli was 88th in 15:52 followed by teammate Aaron Skinkle in 15:52.2. Corning’s Maxwell Keegan was 91st in 15:54.9 and Horseheads’ Tanner Findley was 96th in 16:18.6 followed by teammate Pierce Terwilliger in 16:18.8, Corning’s Sylas Ruza (16:19) and Elmira’s Tyler Young (16:25.6).

Elmira’s Adam Loftus was 104th in 16:50 followed by Gavin Bierwiler of Corning in 16:%6. Corning’s Tristan Pratt was 107th in 17:07 followed by teammate Julian Leise in 17:08.5.

Corning’s Ryan Horth was 125th in 20:45.5 and Harrison Martin of Corning was 129th in 22:11.3.

For the modified girls Corning won at 15 points, followed by Ithaca (50) and Vestal (79).

Corning’s Abigail Wagner won at 13:21.9 with Horseheads’ Suzanne Sydlansky fifth in 13:35.9.

Elmira’s Tessa Duncan was eighth in 14:07.1 followed by Corning’s Lillian Deuerlein (14:18.5), Elmira’s Aubrey Stewart (14:25.6), Corning’s May Benway (14:42), Horseheads’ Aubri Houck (14:45.4) and Layla Storch (14:52.4) and Corning’s Macailyn York (14:55.2).

Horseheads’ Hannah Sydlansky was 20th in 15:10.1 followed by Corning’s Lillian Bocchinfus in 15:10.9.

Elmira’s Naomi Lopez was 33rd in 16:38.5 and Corning’s Vera Despain was 38th in 17:00.3, teammate Katelyn Brayman in 17:14.7, Horseheads’ Cassidy Johnson in 17:17.1, Corning’s Elise Nichols in 17:20.2. and Elmira’s Paityn Walburn in 17:21.2.

Horseheads’ Aleyris Echevarria was 47th in 18:13.5 and teammates Alexis Kozemko (18:23.1) and Anna Kozemko (18:29.2) were 50th and 51st.

Corning’s Eva Murphy was 53rd in 18:45.4 followed by Elmira’s Mallory Duffy in 18:50.5 and Horseheads’ Sohila Elmenshawy in 18:51.

Elmira’s Alaina Locker was 57th in 19:12.1 and teammate Nicole Longwell was 60th in 20:16.4.

Horseheads’ Adelaide Pronti was 63rd in 20:59.3 followed by Corning’s Aubrey Miller in 21:24.4 and Horseheads’ Lillian Shope in 21:29.1. Horseheads’ Emma Jones was 71st in 22:51.7.

For the JV boys Corning was second at 65, with Ithaca winning at 17. Horseheads was fifth at 154.

Michael Naylor of Corning was sixth at 19:44.10 and teammate Ashtyn Stark was ninth in 20:06 followed by Nathaniel Jennings of Corning in 20:15.30.

Maxwell Jennings of Corning was 12th in 20:22.90 and Tanner Knapp of Horseheads was 20th in 20:49.80.

Joshua Knapp of Horseheads was 35th in 21:25.10 and Corning’s Matthew Mahon was 37th in 21:30.60.

Preston Miller of Corning was 39th in 21:42.80 and teammates Dylan Rose was 47th in 21:59.90 followed by Edward Witt in 22:00.60.

Horseheads’ Dominick Marino was 50th in 22:01.30 and Corning’s Thomas VanSlyke was 53rd in 22:15.20 followed by Horseheads’ Finn Van Buskirk in 22:16.90 and Corning’s Mark Sierzant in 22:20.60 and Adrian Blouin in 22:31.40.

Horseheads’ Lucas Mills was 60th in 22:47.30 and Christian Scibek of Horseheads was 66th in 22:06.30 with Horseheads’ Marco Cipolla 68th in 23.16.50 followed by teammates Nolan Cruise in 22:32.90 and Carlo Cipolla in 22:32.90.

Corning’s Coleten Ketchum was 76th in 23:58.30 followed by Horseheads’ Keegan Duart in 24:03.

Horseheads’ Tobia Trema was 82nd in 24:14.80 followed by teammate Thomas White in 24:16.20. Horseheads’ Noah Rangstrom was 88th in 24:38.30 and Nick Fears of Horseheads was 90th in 24:43.50.

Aaron Kaiser of Horseheads was 96th in 24:54.50. Chase Luangsuwan of Horseheads was 111th in 26:40.10 and Nate Hall was 116th in 30:05. Derek Dubuque of Horseheads was 32:30.70.

For the girls Corning won with a score of 15, ahead of Ithaca at 50 and Vestal at 79.

Corning had the top eight finishers, nine of the top 10 and 11 of the top 13.

Maddie Sweet won in 22:59.30 followed by Jenna Rosenkrans (23:34.90), Elianna Schneider (24:00.10), Kendall Curreri (24:18.80), Joy Morey (24:29), Abby Reppert (25:03.10), Haylee Cliff (25:10.90) and Lauren Williams (25:20.70).

Sofia Scouten was 10th in 25:24.20 and Chinonyerem Okoro was 12th in 25:47.10 followed by Hadley Murray in 25:52.20.

Corning’s Anna Patton was 19th in 29:27.10 and Kayleen Woodhouse of Horseheads was 22nd in 31:17.40.

Horseheads’ Alanna Stillman was 27th in 33:38.30 followed by teammate Evelyn Theetge in 33:44.70.
