HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS' SWIMMING & DIVING: ELMIRA PICKS UP VICTORY OVER NOTRE DAME (24 PHOTOS) (2023-10-19) Southern Tier Sports Report ELMIRA — The Elmira girls’ swimming and diving team picked up a win over Notre Dame on Thursday night.
In the 200 medley relay Payton Dotts, Maren Novotny, Madelyn Cavalier and Ava Sherman won for Elmira in 2:10.73.
In the 200 free Elmira’s Scarlett Hollenbeck won in 2:46.12 followed by teammates Payton Dotts (2:48.91) and Harper Andzullis (2:53.28).
In the 200 IM Novotny won in 2:42.69 followed by Leah Gonzalez of Notre Dame (2:49.92) and Bridget Hagan of Elmira (2:57.59).
Sherman won the 50 free in 27.19 followed by Alexis Collins of Notre Dame in 27.44 and Kaydence Green of Elmira in 32.92.
Ellie Johnson of Elmira won the diving at 174.45 and in the 100 fly Cavalier won in 1:07.30 followed by Hannah Gonzalez of Notre Dame in 1:18.09 and Green in 1:25.74.
Johnson won the 100 free in 1:08.73 followed by Notre Dame’s Isabella Mashewske in 1:11.92 and Ella Cain of Notre Dame in 1:17.89.
Sherman won the 500 free in 6:28.08 followed by Hannah Gonzalez in 6:46.11 and Bridget Hagan in 6:48.87.
Collins, Cain, Mashewske and Gonzalez won the 200 free relay in 2:03.80. Cavalier, Johnson, Novotny and Sherman had the top time as an exhibition in 1:58.46.
Collins won the 100 back in 1:15.55. Cavalier had the top time as an exhibition in 1:10.83 and Hollenbeck had the third best time as an exhibition in 1:23.81.
Leah Gonzalez won the 100 breaststroke in 1:33.25. Novotny had the top time as an exhibition in 1:29.42 and Alyssa Murphy had the third best time as an exhibition in 1:41.19.
Elmira’s Dotts, Murphy, Eleanor Hagan and Hollenbeck had the top time in the 400 free relay as an exhibition in 4:57.35. —— PHOTOS BY BRIAN FEES.
