HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS' TENNIS: CORNING EDGES U-E 4-3 ON SENIOR NIGHT (2023-09-23)
Southern Tier Sports ReportCORNING — The Corning tennis team earned a hard-fought 4-3 win over Union-Endicott on senior night on Friday night.
In first doubles it was Nadine Kohnke and Emma Frost winning a 7-5, 7-5 match over Aubrey Salati and Stella Diamantakos to clinch the match.
In first singles U-E’s Giada Circensi won 6-0, 6-2 over Jana Zakharian and in second singles U-E’s Melanie Scalcione won 4-6, 7-5, 7-6 (12-10) over Lydia Chung.
Corning’s June Park won 6-0, 6-0 over Camryn Cook at third singles.
In 2nd doubles U-E’s Grace Murphy and Kearsten Cook won 7-6 (7-4), 2-6, 7-6 (7-4) over Noelle Paek and Cora McNeill.
In third doubles Corning’s Jessica Fang and Sophia Myers won 6-2, 6-2 over Maria De Nardis and Ellison Hamilton-Jones and in fourth doubles Sarah Lundergan and Makenna Morse won 6-2, 6-3 over Emily Jones and Regan Paulo.
