Sophomore defender Brody Hamilton scored his first varsity goal off an assist from Landon Cook for Elmira.
Sam Brenen-Buseck had 10 saves in net for the Express.
Ryan Anderson scored the Horseheads goal off an assist from Tommy Klee.
“I was super proud of the boys tonight,” Elmira coach Derek Hamilton said. “We were down four regular starters due to injury and the boys were able to grind out a point against a difficult STAC West opponent. Hopefully we can get ourselves healthy heading into the later part of the season.”
Horseheads coach Mark Mucci feels like his team played a strong game in the tie.
“Tough battle,” Mucci said. “Elmira played with a lot of heart. We played well, possessed the ball, moved it well, had a ton of chances. But, didn’t finish our opportunities.” —— PHOTOS COURTESY OF KRISTINE DALE.
