HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL: CORNING PICKS UP ROAD WIN AT ITHACA (2023-09-21)

ITHACA — The Corning volleyball team went on the road and picked up a four-set win over Ithaca in a rematch of last year’s sectional final.

Corning won the match 25-18, 18-25, 25-15, 25-21.

Piper Emmick had 23 assists, 10 digs, seven kills, three blocks and two aces for the Hawks and Gracee Work had nine kills, four digs, 14 points, four aces and six blocks.

Hannah Smith had seven kills, four assists, three digs and two blocks, with 18 points and three aces.

Corning won the JV match 3-0.

Evie Starns had eight kills, three blocks and four aces, while Sydney Layton finished with 22 points, nine aces and 10 digs. Melina Schwesinger had seven kills and six digs.
