HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS: CORNING WINS FIRST, SECOND DOUBLES, BUT FALLS TO ITHACA (2023-09-21)

CORNING — The Corning tennis team won in first and second doubles, but fell to Ithaca on Thursday, 5-2.

In first doubles Jessica Fang and Sophia Myers of Corning won 6-3, 6-3 over Claire Park and Juliana Blue.

In second doubles June Park and Lydia Chung won 6-3, 1-6, 7-6 (10-8) over Tania Hao and Fiona Hinrichsen.

In third doubles Ruby Gelder and Veronica Liivak of Ithaca won 6-2, 6-3 over Jana Zakharian and Alyssa Wilson.

In first singles Ithaca’s Liubov Kryshchuk won 6-0, 6-0 over Emma Frost and at second singles Emma More won 6-3, 6-1 over Noelle Paek of Corning.

Ithaca’s Marina Okada won 6-0, 6-1 over Nadine Kohnke at third singles and at fourth singles Fiona Glenn-Keough of Ithaca won 6-3, 6-1 over Cora McNeill.
