HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY: EDISON HAS 3 TOP 10 FINISHERS, BOYS TAKE 3RD IN MEET AT TIOGA (18 PHOTOS) (2023-09-20)
Southern Tier Sports ReportTIOGA CENTER — The Edison cross country teams ran in a five-team meet at Tioga on Wednesday, with the boys taking third on the day.
The Edison boys took third at 50 points. SVE won at 25, followed by Newark Valley at 45. Candor and Tioga had non complete teams.
Jameson Duggan led the Edison boys with a fifth-place finish in 20:48. Kaleb Podoliak also had a top-10 finish, taking 10th in 21:52.
Zach Sternfels was 12th in 22:10 and Elliott Riffle was 18th in 23:17 and Landon Allen took 20th in 23:28.
Darius Kelley was 21st in 23:39 and Carter Smith was 24th in 27:29.
Shawn Kelly was 29th in 31:12 and Elijah Reed was 33rd in 43:54.
For the modified boys Grayson Margeson was sixth in 12:30.
For the girls Candor won at 36, followed by Newark Valley at 40 and SVE at 45. Edison and Tioga had non complete teams.
Mayla Falank led the Edison girls with a sixth place finish in 24:05, just three seconds off of fifth place.
Hannah Lasko was 12th for the Spartans in 27:05 and Riley Thresher was 25th in 32:54. Haylie Rosenthal was 28th in 40:19 for Edison.
Edison’s Emma Rose Deats won the modified race in 11:56. Olivia Welch was sixth in 12:41 followed by Emma Duggan a second back.
Aubriella Ector was 11th in 13:30 and Paisley Harnas was 14th in 13:52.
