HIGH SCHOOL GOLF: SMITHMEN SHOOTS 41, BUT CORNING FALLS TO VESTAL (2023-09-14)

APALACHIN — The Corning golf team got a 41 from Carter Smithmen, but fell to Vestal at the Links at Hiawatha Landing, 197-249.

Smithmen shot a 41 and Ethan Ford had a 45, while Sam Masaki shot a 48.

Dom Dinardo had a 55 for Corning and Bryce Clark shot a 60, while Finn Barber shot 61.

Michael Hotalen earned medalist honors for Vestal at 35. Bennett Snyder and William Brosius each shot rounds of 40, while Justin Alvord and Nolan Karski each shot 41, while Johnny Gorman had a 45.

Extra golfers for Corning were Caden Barrett (54), Ethan Yarnell (55), Evan Riley (67) and Zach Spaulding (71).

Logan Kim had a 38 for Vestal and Max Hatala shot 45, while Collin Fimbres shot a 46 and Sam Ciaravino had a 48 and Tom Vallely had a 49. Teddy Brosius shot a 51.
