CORNING’S McKANE NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM GIRLS’ REGIONAL “ATHLETE OF THE WEEK”It
doesn’t happen often, but McKane accomplished this week made her a
sure-fire pick to be the regional pick for a second straight week.
On
Saturday the Corning senior broke four pool and meet records — 100
fly, 50 free, 100 free and 200 free — at the Waverly Invite. She also
broke school records in the 100 and 200 free.
Her time in the 100 fly was an automatic all-American time and in the 50 free it was an All-American consideration time.
This
came two days after she broke two pool records in a meet in Binghamton.
On that day she won both her individual events, and both relays. In the
200 IM, she broke a pool record that had stood since 1986 and in the
100 backstroke she also broke a pool record.

Jaelyn Chrysler (cross country), and NEB Abby O’Connor (volleyball).
S-VE’S GARRISON NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM BOYS’ REGIONAL “ATHLETE OF THE WEEK”
Garrison
was the lone runner among 97 competitors to break the 17-minute mark at
the Dave “Flash” Forbes Memorial Cross Country Invitational in Oneonta
Saturday.
The senior clocked 16:32.3, crossing the finish line well ahead of runner-up, who posted a 17:10.1.
