COLLEGE SOFTBALL: CCC'S VONDRACEK SIGNS TO PLAY AT CALDWELL UNIVERSITY (2023-06-23)

Corning Community College softball standout Grace Vondracek signed to continue her softball career at Caldwell University.

Vondracek will join the Division II school in New Jersey, where she will join Corning teammate Jayden Hill. The Cougars have qualified for the NCAA National Tournament in 16 of the past 19 seasons.

Over her two seasons with CCC Vondracek is a two-time NJCAA National Player of the Year; two-time NFCA National Player of the Year; 2-time NJCAA Region III Player of the Year; 2022 NJCAA Region III Female Athlete of the year and 2023 NFCA Gold Shoe Award winner, along with the 2023 SUNY Student Athlete of the Year in the sport of softball.

Over her two seasons she was 192 for 311 at the plate, hitting .617. She scored 179 runs and had 192 hits and 37 doubles. She had 20 home runs, 129 RBI and 66 walks and only struck out 16 times. She had 89 steals in her two years.

This past season she led the nation in runs scored, hits and walks drawn, was third national in batting average and stolen bases and sixth nationally in RBI.

In Grace’s career CCC was 115-21 (85%). In the 2023 National Tournament against the top teams in the nation Vondracek went 13-for-15 (.866 from the plate with three doubles and two triples.
