MCGEE, BUSH NAMED ATHLETES OF YEAR AT EDISON'S ALL-SPORTS BANQUET (June 14, 2023)

ELMIRA HEIGHTS — Elmira Heights held their all-sports banquet on Monday with Gianna McGee and Evan Bush being named the athletes of the year.

Bush was the male athlete of the year and McGee was the female athlete of the year, while Talon LaPlante won the football outstanding lineman award. Chris Albertalli and Imogen Manoogian won the senior tennis awards and Madasyn Huffner and Maliyah McIver won the senior softball awards and Allyson Balash won the fall Meichel Wiita Cheerleading Award and Angelina Rose won the winter award.

For each sport there was an MVP and a Brad Sanford Excellence in Sportsmanship award.

Ethan Smith was boys’ cross country MVP and Jameson Duggan won the Brad Sanford award. Maura Heraghty won MVP for girls’ cross country and Mayla Falank was the Brad Sanford winner.

DeShon Cook and Dillon Benjamin won the football MVP award and George Smith was the Brad Sanford Award.

For fall cheerleading Jamie Roe won the MVP and Peyton Gibbs was the Brad Sanford winner.

Emma Maggs and Gabby Milazzo won the MVP for volleyball and Emily Aiello won the Brad Sanford award.

Smith won the boys’ basketball MVP and Bush was the Brad Sanford winner, while for girls’ basketball McGee and Payton Littlefield won MVP, while Milazzo and Charlee Stroman won the Brad Sanford Award.

Angelina Rose won the winter cheerleading MVP and Manoogian won the Brad Sanford award.

Zachary Crown won the boys’ bowling MVP and Joe Paul won the Brad Sanford award.

Julian Buzzetti won the wrestling MVP and Cody Lucero and Abigail Johnson won the Brad Sanford Award and for boys’ track and field Lucero and Benjamin won, while Kaleb Podoliak was the Brad Sanford winner.

For softball Maycie Bennett was the Brad Sanford winner and for girls’ track Heraghty, Josephine Burleigh and Hannah Lasko won the MVP, while Reagan Peris won the Brad Sanford award.

Elijah Reed won the tennis Brad Sanford Award. Ashton Colunio and Max Goodman won the baseball MVP and Landon Allen and Thomas Cheplick won the Brad Sanford Award.
