ELMIRA HEIGHTS — The Edison softball team scored at least four runs in three separate innings as they beat SVEC 13-1 in the Section IV, Class C quarterfinals on Tuesday.

Edison scored four in the second, four in the third and five in the fifth to get the win.

Mariana Jones-Frosolone was 3-for-3 with a double and she pitched, striking out eight in the five-inning win.

Emily Aiello had two hits, with a three-run home run in the bottom of the fifth that invoked the mercy rule. She scored twice in the game and her other hit was a double. Watch the Aiello home run.

Gabby Milazzo, Maddison Pack and Maycie Bennett had two hits each for the Spartans.

Bennett had two doubles and three RBI and Milazzo scored two runs, while Pack had four RBI and scored two runs in the game.

Emma Maggs, Kailey Ripley and Maliyah McIver all had hits for Edison in the game.

Maggs scored a run and Ripley had two RBI and scored a run, while McIver had an RBI and a run scored.

Madasyn Hüfner scored a run in the game.
