COLLEGE FOOTBALL: CORNING GRAD RODRIGUEZ HAS PICK-SIX TO HELP SEAL ST. JOHN FISHER WIN (2021-10-11)
Southern Tier Sports ReportCorning graduate Justin Rodriguez had a pick-six to help St. John Fisher football seal a 28-23 win over Morrisville State on Saturday.
Leading 21-17 in the fourth quarter the former Hawks star came up with a big play as he picked off a Morrisville pass and went 35 yards for the score to make it 28-17.
Rodriguez had six tackles in the game to go with his interception, and his brother, Jason Rodriguez, had two tackles in the win.
Justin is a freshman for St. John Fisher. He has four interceptions on the year along with three pass breakups. He has 22 tackles this season.
Jason is a senior and he has 30 tackles this season, with three pass breakups.
St. John Fisher is 3-3 on the year after the win. Next week they host a Alfred University team that features three Corning graduates — Blake VanWoert, Max Freeman IV and Sam Wakeman.
