HORSEHEADS — Horseheads started both halves fast on Saturday and in the end that led them to their fifth straight win, 4-2 over Corning.

Horseheads got off to a fast start against the Corning boys’ soccer team on Saturday, but it was their play in the second half that lifted them to the win.

Horseheads scored two goals in the first 10 minutes, before Corning answered with a pair of first half goals to tie things.

With the game tied, Horseheads went back to work in the second half, scoring two goals in the first 15 minutes of the half to get the victory.

Minutes into the game Corning was called for a hand ball in the box and Jimmy Haberstroh converted on the penalty kick to put Horseheads up 1-0.

Just minutes later Danny Williams made it 2-0 Blue Raiders as he scored off a cross from Trevor Howard.

Corning answered back just minutes later when Jaylen King found the back of the net to make it 2-1 and Corning tied the game with five minutes left in the half when Aidan Smith scored.

The Blue Raiders retook the lead 11 minutes into the second half when Ahmed Souid scored off an assist from Seth Wilsoncroft to put Horseheads up 3-2.

Horseheads capped the scoring just two minutes later as Haberstroh scored off a breakaway on a through ball from Joey Mucci to cap the scoring.
