Southern Tier Sports Report ELMIRA — The Horseheads boys’ lacrosse team jumped out to a 10-1 lead after one quarter on their way to an 18-6 win at Elmira on Thursday night.
Alex Johanson had eight points on the day, including the 100th of his career. Johanson finished with five goals and three assists in the win.
Griffin Stevens was a perfect 24-for-24 on face-offs on the day and he had two goals and an assist.
Braden Woodworth and Zach Lese each had three goals and an assist in the win.
Garrett Elston had a goal and an assist and Domanik West finished with two goals.
Pat Karabaich and Liam Levantovich each finished with a goal for the Blue Raiders.
Andrew Potter had three saves and Jacob Fifield had four saves for the Blue Raiders.
“I was proud of how the boys were locked in from the first face-off,” Horseheads coach Jason Neubauer said. “Griff Stevens going perfect at the X tonight was a huge advantage.”
Sam Brenen-Buseck had 16 saves in goal for Elmira.
